| Are you tired of seeing the same old crashes again and again? Do you buy a crash video, hoping to find at least one decent ramp strike, cold cat, or other carrier mishap (anything Naval Aviation)? Then this is for you. This DVD is from my private collection and contains 250 MISHAPS. To make it onto this DVD, the criteria is simple; the mishap must occur while landing on or taking off from a ship. There are a few flight deck mishaps (like aircraft sliding into each other due to heavy seas, etc.). Many of the mishaps include the original radio communications. Some are quite dramatic. Also, I have included mishaps from other nations, not just the US Navy. This is a tribute to the sacrifices of NAVAIR, regardless of nationality. Below is a list of the type of aircraft and number of mishaps for each:
10 bi-planes
43 single engine propeller
10 twin engine propellers (C-1, S-2, C-2, E-2)
16 early jets (Cougars, Banshees, Panthers, Demons, Fury, Cutlass)
10 A-3 mishaps
9 A-4 mishaps
16 A-6 mishaps
3 EA-6B mishaps
21 A-7 mishaps
19 F-4 mishaps
25 F-8 mishaps (plus 3-5 duplicates)
23 F-14 mishaps
6 F/A-18 mishaps
4 recon mishaps (RA-5, RF-4B)
3 tanker mishaps (KA-7E, KA-6D)
8 helicopter (CH-46, SH-60B, UH-3H, SH-3H)
7 deck mishaps (mostly involving crewman)
5 Australian mishaps
5 British mishaps
3 Russian mishaps
4 French mishaps
4 S-3 mishaps
2 Trainer mishaps (T-2, T-34)
For those who take the time to add, this comes to over 250. I am advertising this as 250, in case there are duplicates, etc, so that some Poindexter doesn't bust my chops!! I wish I could say that you have never seen all of these mishaps, but I can't and won't. But I can say that there are MANY that you have not seen before, especially with the radio communications. It is one thing to watch a ramp strike. It is another to watch it while listening to the LSO screaming for power. Also, be warned. There are a few graphic examples of how easy it is to get killed on a flight deck. Run time is 2 hours on this 2 DVD set.
