| These are three FAA produced aviation movies that I’ve had tucked away for a long time. The image quality is fair to good; as good as it can be from a thirty year old government produced video.
The information in these films is interesting but the situations did not age all that well. They are definitely dated but will quickly remind you what it was like to fly as a kid.
The first film, Flight 52, has loads of United Airlines footage, cockpit shots, etc. It is also very interesting to watch the ramp operations. The film follows a flight from LAX (Los Angles International) to IAD (Dulles International).
Film 2 is an interesting film about testing fuel burning solutions in crashes. The FAA took a remote controlled 707 and crashes it, in slow motion, into the desert floor. Sad part is that the plane missed its intended target. Sorry, no do overs.
Film 3 is about as dated as they get. It explores the process of building Arapahoe County Airport in Colorado. Footage of planes from United, Southern and Federal Express.
The film shows scenes from Huntsville-Madison Airport as an example of a successful development. My favorite scene from this movie is at the end showing golfers on the green with a United 707 taxing in the background. You will notice there are no fences.
