This is a very rare B-17 document and only available through Rare Aviation.
This is a previously restricted document that describes the different German fighter tactics used to shoot down B-17s.
The tactics are named, diagramed in color, and described in detail.
Each tactic is given a name like “Sisters Act”, “Roller Coaster”, “The Pepper Spray” and “The Single Engine Tail Pecker”, etc.
This document comes from Headquarters Eighth Air Force, Office of the Commanding General.
The introduction says:
“The attached report on German fighter tactics used against Flying Fortresses of the Eighth Air Force has been prepared by the 3rd Bombardment Division, VIII Bomber Command for the use of operations, intelligence, and gunnery officers in the instruction of combat crews.”
