DESCRIPTION.Form No. 263-B Aircraft Checkers Report, Winterization Check List provides, in bound form, acomplete list of winterization items applying to aircraft and equipment for satisfactory operationwithin a temperature range (ambient) of —65°F to T 160°F. Space is provided under each item,for remarks of contractors and/or AAF personnel with regard to progress on, or completion of,the work represented by the item. Further space is provided for certification of each item by theresponsible inspectors.2. PREPARATION AND DISTRIBUTION.a. When an aircraft is accepted from the contractor, one copy of Form No. 263-B, completedas set forth below and plainly marked with the model designation and AAF serial number of theaircraft to which it pertains will be placed with the Form No. 263-A and forwarded with the aircraft.The form will be completed to clearly indicate:(1) That items are either applicable or not applicable to the aircraft.(2) That items have been completed or complied with by the contractor, or the extent ofsuch completion or compliance.(3) Proper inspection and approval of each item, by signature or stamp of contractor andAAF inspection personnel.b. When winterized aircraft are received at Modification Centers, Form No. 263-B will beused^ to determine the extent of completion of Winterization Items. Entries will be made andcertified to at Modification Centers covering any of such items on which additional work isaccomplished.c. When winterized aircraft are received at Depots, Sub-Depots or other A SC activities, FormNo. 263-B will be used in the same manner as prescribed for Modification Centers, underparagraph 2.b. above.d. Whenever an aircraft winterization project is initiated on delivered aircraft, the initiatingactivity will complete Form No. 263-B in the manner prescribed for contractors. The form will beplaced with Form No. 263-A on the aircraft.3. RESPONSIBILITIES.a. It will be the responsibility of the AAF Resident Representatives stationed at aircraft con-tractor’s factories to determine that AAF Form No. 263-B is completed for each airplane to bewinterized, and that such form is carried in the airplane when it departs from contractor’s plant.b. AAF Resident Representative at Contractor’s Modification Centers will be responsible forthe proper entry on the form of items accomplished at such Modification Centers, and that theform remains with the airplane on departure.c.
